Earth's Loss is Heaven's Great Gain

This morning a little after 2:00 a.m. my friend Linda Scantlin went home to be with our Maker. She handled the cancer that ravaged her lungs with grace and dignity and she was an inspiration to all who knew her.

I have been blessed to call her my friend on this earth and it will be an honour to call her my sister when I reach Heaven someday.

My prayers go out to her husband Glenn, her sons and daughter, their spouses and the grandchildren. I also pray for her brother and sister and their families as well as her close friends and church family.

Her arrangements are being handled by Chapmans Funeral Home in Winfield.

Her visitation will be from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.

Her funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Arthur will be officiating.

You can leave your condolences online on the funeral home website at :

Thanks for allowing me to share this with you!

I never met Linda, but certainly kept her in my prayers. She, as you described her, was a wonderful lady and a blessing to all who knew her.
