That Little Penny in the Parking Lot

Remember this every time you pass that little penny in the parking lot.

I always thought that it was for good luck, but I really love this version better.

I found a penny today laying on the ground.

But it's not just a penny, this little coin I've found.

Found pennies come from heaven, that's what my Grandpa told me.

He said Angels toss them down.

Oh, how I loved that story.

He said when an Angel misses you, they toss a penny down;

Sometimes just to cheer you up, to make a smile out of your frown.

So, don't pass by that penny when you're feeling blue.

It may be a penny from heaven that an Angel's tossed to you.

Returning to the Nest to Regroup

Sis and I at a WV Power baseball game a year ago. She was recovering from an auto accident at the time.

Sis several years ago sneaking lunch with her Pops and I at work.

One of her senior pictures from high school, WOW! Seems like yesterday......not 6.5 years ago...

More recent....

Playing for her brothers wedding several years ago...

Just being her kooky wonderful spontaneous self recently......

Working now for an auto parts place as delivery driver.....

Playing in the trees at Hawks Nest state park in 05....

Sis & Me in our old house in the kitchen playing.....

Today we helped our 24 year old daughter move back home. She had been living on her own since college and has recently decided rather than live with a roommate not so happily in a shared space, to move back home, save some money and hopefully move out into her own solo space. Sounded very logical to us so we helped her pack and move back home.

I know its hard for her to move back home after living so independently on her own but we are very glad she is back.

Its nice to hear her voice down the hall talking to one of our cats that has adopted the foot of her bed, to see her face at the dinner table this evening enjoying mama's home cooking and even see her smelly laundry piled up now in the laundry room.

Seems like only yesterday she was a child, now a grown woman with her own ideas, goals and life....amazing how time flies!!!!

Don't know how long she will be living with us, but I for one am glad she is home......

Newest Consigner- Primitive Furniture Reproductions Locally Made

The following pics are ones I took today of some newly arrived handcrafted primitive furniture reproductions from one of our newest consigners, Jerry from Cross Lanes.

The finishes on these pieces are so well done I have already had customers who think they are actually old and not new reproductions.

Take a look at these then stop in and run your hand along the finish, you won't believe they aren't old. I bet you will want to add at least one of them to your home decor!

This whitewashed bin is currently holding some large Georgia pine cones, but it would make an awesome container for just about any collection you have.

This red primmed corner cabinet has a wonderful finish. The patina on it could be very convincing to make it hard to decide whether it were old or reproduction.

Here you can see a close up of the finish on the doors including their vintage spoon door handles.

The size of this cabinet and the fact that it was made in two separate pieces makes it a very useful cabinet for anyone's space.

The finish makes it look at those it just came from Gramma's attic.

This small red cabinet with prim finish is another wonderful example of Jerry's craftsmanship and attention to detail!

This table and four chairs just arrived also from Jerry. It has an excellent finish, its sturdy made and the chairs have wide deep seats just perfect for comfortable seating. It would make a perfect game table for your prim Gathering Room.

New Items in Shop

These mason jar tart warmers come in two sizes, quart and pint and are awesome! They went fast the last time we had them in the shop!

This adorable tin tartwarmer looks like and outhouse! Its a cutie with lil moons cut out on all sides it would make a great night light in your privy!

These prim paper towel holders were just painted and primmed by Terry today! Several colors and styles!

We just received a shipment of framed artwork and as you can see we haven't even had time to hang them yet!

Some are requested favorites and some are new discovery's!

This little lady is too sweet! She would be great to add to anyone's miniature collection or mini village!

This sampler with a quote from Abe Lincoln is awesome!!!!

These real Mason jars with soap pumps are going fast already!

Just arrived today from Tammy our doll maker and they are adorable and hand stitched too!

This hand painted snowman window from Tina is awesome!

This beautiful table was made by Danny for a custom order and it is gorgeous. The new owner was thrilled!!!!

We call this lil lady Molly Primwald! What a handmade cutie from Tammy!

This bench was made by Tony and made from 100 year old timbers taken from an old coal company house. Its made from oak, spruce and hemlock! Heavy weight too!

The handmade snowman pillow and runner above are from Tammy too!

The framed slate chalkboard was handcrafted and it arrived this week too!

There are so many more items that have arrived I cant even begin to share them all with you!

New Stuff!!!! and .......The Witches of Country Gatherings

Sorry no pics yet but I just wanted to share with you that we have a ton of new stuff newly arrived yesterday and today in the shop!!! So much stuff came by UPS and Fedex we literally couldn't move for all the boxes!!!!!!

Just to name a few items..... different kinds of tart warmers (think Outhouse and canning jar...) , new copper wall clocks, plate easels, star towel holders, new signs, more angels, new jar candles and votives and tarts....oh my.......

So many more things I cant even name and more Christmas items are being unpacked daily!!!! You should see all the neat ornaments we have already and there are still more to unpack!

New consigned items will be arriving by weeks end! And Terry is creating more wreaths and arrangements daily!!! So many new things to see and still so much more to unpack!!!

Ohh and did I mention more items are on the way too???? YEP!!!!!

P.S. Ok ok so there is one picture.......The Witches Of Country Gatherings....... Are you a good witch or a bad witch???? EHHH EHHH EHHH EHHH EHHHH!!!! Pathetic right???? LOL ......Yeah but us big kids had fun at Halloween too.......and Terry scared me with that wand of hers.....I sure was glad she didn't try and turn me into a frog or something....If she had I would have had to have dropped a house on her or something...wink wink wink......
